I'm back!!

Just back from climbing Mt Kinabaru @ Sabah, Malaysia. A very rewarding and memorable journey. All thanks to the guide, the journey was well planned and everything went smoothly. All participants were safe with only muscle strains on the leg.

Almost all reached the summit but even those that never, I am sure they gained alot from this expedition.

Participants were mostly not from FGS and were informed about the expedition through words of mouth. I was actually quite worried before the event as most of the participants were not experienced and we are rather clueless on how to prepare for it.

But from this few day, I would say its not really about the fitness of the body but the fitness of the mind that we conquer ourselves to achieve the climb. We are indeed the lucky batch as the weather was unusually fine especially during the submit climb. I would say it all thanks to the chanting sessions we had everyday.

I could still remember during the summit climb on monday morning 3am where we had to travel in complete darkness. I had almost lost my sight on the environment and the only way is to follow the mt guide's footstep closely. As I am the first few, I can only tell myself to follow closely as if not, the rest at the back might loss the way. Just lagging a few arms length back and we are not able to see each other and could only follow whatever headlamps that's in front of us.

When we have reached the peak and coming down, we were all amazed from our achievements! The journey we had travelled were actually full of hazards like pits and falls. Just losing a grip and I am sure we were be gone.

The expedition could not have been so fun and successful without the team spirit we have forged and the trust we have given for each other. The journey was also filled with laughters and I had gained alot of insights that I am sure will helped me alot for my life. Friendships were also created in just a very short span of days during the climb.

I would say the most fruitful part of the journey to me is about understanding myself. Especially in face of danger and unfavorable conditions, our characters and weakness will inevitably show. I would say since I have know the pits of my character, now its the time to work on them!
